Raymond Bentley Smith, age 90

He was born to the late Frank and Jane Smith, July 3, 1927, in Coventry, Rhode Island.Ray graduated from Coventry High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island. He served in the US Navy during WWII and Korean War. Ray worked for 25 years as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch in Miami, Florida.He married Priscilla Morison on March 12, 1955.    Together they lived in Ohio, New York, and Connecticut, before relocating to Miami, in 1963 to later retire in Peachtree City, Georgia in 1990. Together they enjoyed traveling. Some memorable trips include Switzerland and Alaska. After celebrating 56 wonderful years of marriage, Priscilla passed away in 2011.Ray spent his life serving those around him including his family, church body, and Community. He had an infectious smile and he loved making others smile with jokes and magic tricks. He was an active member of Grace Evangelical Church for 20 years. He faithfully volunteered at the church in many capacities. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed golf.   He spent his last seven years living and loving his time at Somerby in Birmingham, Ala.Ray is survived by his daughters, Susan (Jim) Baird and Cindy (Jim) Lisenby; grandchildren, Megan Baird, Andrew Baird, Grayson Baird, Will (Amanda) Lisenby, Laurie (Rob) Martino, and Matthew (Meghan) Lisenby; great-grandchildren, Eva, Max, Gracie and Bradley; and nieces, Betty Poutre and Linda Smith.A Memorial Service was held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City with Rev. Mike Stachura officiating. The family  received friends prior to the service from 3 – 4 p.m. at the funeral home.Carl J.
